Chamomile Matricaria (German) Essential Oil ABSOLUTE (matricaria chamomilla) 5ml

A strong aromatic annual herb, that grows up to 60 cms high, with daisy floweres on single stems. German Chamomile share many of the features as the roman chamomile, but german chamomile is slightly smaller in size. Despite its name the plant is no longer grown in Germany and is now cultivated extensively in Hungary and eastern Europe, where the oil is now produced. The herb has been well known for its medicinal traditions. The oil is obtained by steam distillation from the flower heads. This absolute oil is produced in small quantitys and is a deep blue in colour. The ink blue coloured oil has a strong, sweet warm-herbaceous aroma.

Latin name: Matricaria chamomilia.

Family: Compositae.

Extraction: The extraction is by distillation of the herb and dried flowers of the plant.

Aroma: The German Chamomile has a stong, sweet and warm herbaceous fragrance.

Blends well with: Lavender, geranium, benzoin, neroli, jasmine, clary sage, ylang ylang, marjoram, patchouli, rose, sage and labdanum.
