Clary Sage Blending Advice The aroma of clary sage oil is rather heady and overwhelming, so use it sparingly in massage and facial oils, and a little more generously in bath oils. A small amount of this oil will blend well with a variety of other essential oils. Its relaxing effects are enhanced with lavender or camomile. With either ylang ylang, jasmine or patchouli oil, clary sage creates a rich exotic fragrance. The addition of a little palmarosa, bergamot or lemon essential oil helps lift the heaviness to create a more balanced aroma.
