Clove Bud Essential Oil (syzygium aromaticum)

Clove bud essential oil has a perfumery base note with a warming and spicy aroma. The clove bud is distilled from the flower buds of the plant. The clove bud is native to south-east Asia. Used in China during the Han Dynasty in the third century bc as a breath sweetener. Clove bud is one of the many spices known and used extensively by the Romans.

Latin name: Eugenia caryophyllata.

Family: Myrtaceae.

Extraction: By steam distillation.

Aroma: A strong, spicy and penetrating aroma.

Blends well with: Citrus Oils, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Egyptian Geranium, Lavender, Neroli and Ylang Ylang.
