The hyssop essential oil has a perfumery middle note. The hyssop is native to the Mediterranean region. The hyssop herb was regarded by the Greeks and Hebrews as a sacred herb, it was used to cleanse sacred areas such as temples. The hyssop is a small perennial herb, the herb has long stalks with narrow leaves and blue flowers. The hyssop essential oil is extracted from the leaves and flowering heads, is often used in perfumes and liqueurs.
