May Chang oil is native to east Asia and a popular essential oil used in China who is the main producer of the oil. The pale yellow coloured oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fruits of the tree. The (may chang) litsea cubeba is a small tropical tree with lemongrass scented flowers and leaves and fruits that are shaped like peppers. The aroma is an intense, sweet lemony, citrus with fresh-fruity, floral undertones. The may chang is used widely in the making of soaps, air fresheners, toiletries and perfumes.
