Latin name: Origanum marjorana.

Source: Most of the essential oil is produced in Morocco, Egypt, Germany and France. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried flowers of this bushy herb.

Description and aroma: Its odour effect is warming and calming and reputed to quell sexual desire. The fragrance is warm, spicy-camphoraceous.

Key qualities: Anaphrodisiac, stupefying in large doses, cephalic, sedative, nervine, restorative, warming, comforting.

Blends well with: Basil, bergamot, fennel, geranium, cedarwood, chamomile, rosemary, eucalyptus and pine.
