Rosehip Carrier Oil (Rosa rubiginosa)

The plant: The bush grows to a height of up to 8 feet, where it grown wild in the Andes, and is found in poor soil conditions. It bears white and pink flowers which form the hips.

Therapeutic properties: Scars, wounds, burns, eczema and problems where skin regeneration is concerned. Rose hip oil may be used in cosmetic creams and lotions.

The oil: The rose hip oil is a golden reddish colour, due to the carotenoids in the hips, and, as it can be said it is organic, because it is produced from the wild fruits or berries of wild bushes.

Extraction method: The seeds are ground and obtained by cold expression.

Latin name: Rosa species.
