Using Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Please remember that essential oils are for aromatherapy use only and are not for ingesting!

Ylang Ylang is a sensual oil with an aroma that is believed to calm the nerves and lesson inhibition. Ylang Ylang is a great essential oil for beauty treatments - great for the skin, hair and in helping to remove tension, and with its sweet flowery fragrance, makes it a good oil for massage blends. Ylang ylang's sensual feel is ideal to use in the bedroom and bathroom and to scent your underwear drawer.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil For Blending
Ylang Ylang oil will always marry well with many of the other floral oils, especially with rose and neroli oil. If the intense fragrance is too much , try toning it down with other oils like bergamot or petitgrain. This will make the aroma more 'masculine', blend with oils with a combination of wood, spice and citrus oils, these can be cedarwood, coriander and lemon. Ylang Ylang is an excellent fixative. It slows the evaporation of more highly volatile oils, e.g citrus and lavender, and will help to prolong the staying power of a blend. Try the blends below using ylang ylang essential oil:

Serenity Blend - This is a 'feminine' blend
10ml diluted ylang ylang oil
5ml sweet almond or grapeseed oil
1 drop pure geranium essential oil
1 drop pure lavender essential oil

Serenity Blend - This is a 'masculine blend'
