Carrot Seed Essential Oil (daucus carota)

Carrot essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried wild carrot seeds, after they have been crushed, and the plant can grow to about 3 feet high with white and dark purple flowers. The carrot seed essential oil has an earthy, warming and spicy aroma with a perfumery note of middle. The carrod seed essential oil is extracted from the wild carrot, a different variety of plant from the kitchen variely used in cooking. Carrot seed essential oil is used for many uses commercially as flavouring and perfuming ingredient in food and cosmetics. The carrot seed is used in aromatherapy, mainly in skin care preparations.
